Happy "Niu" Year!

First of all, greetings to all! Happy Niu Year to all!

To all Mandarin speaking people, they should know what I mean. No, not that I do not know how to spell "New"! "Niu" is Mandarin actually means Ox, and as this year, 2009 is the year of the ox, people tend to use Happy "Niu" Year, literally mean "Happy Ox year"!

So how's your 1st four days of the Ox year? Has it been great? There is a Chinese saying that the most important period in a year is during the spring (Spring literally means the beginning of the year). Many believe if we have a good start, the rest will be equally good.

Personally, the beginning of the Ox year has been quite different. Unlike the previous years, there is an outing with family, which turn out to be quite well. At first I was at doubt whether it is a good idea.

Besides, from this new year, I also learn to be grateful and appreciate quality time. There are time well-spent with people that I really cherish, and time spent with people whom I don't really fancy, and the comparison suddenly made me realized that I haven't been treating the people that I cherish well enough. And expressing it with words aren't my strong point at all. So I'm determined to show it with actions, which I believe speaks louder than words!

Happy Chinese New Year Everyone!

There will always be Two Side to One Thing

2009 started with a bang (though a negative one): A war in Palestine, and gas supply cut in Europe. Phew! What a way to start a year. But nonetheless, in other part of the world, life goes on. And when the war brought the share market across the globe rising, there are still people laughing to the bank, while some others are in hell.

So people are saying we are in a financial crisis, auto crisis, retrenchment...and all kinds of terms to define it, yet, to some, this is a window of opportunities..opportunities to buy over a rival, to buy cheap stocks of listed companies, to buy cheap stuffs from desperate seller. This is life! There will always be two side to one thing: one side is positive, and the other is negative.

If we look carefully enough, even the best thing will have side effect that is negative, vise versa. For example, if you have a highly paid job, it will certainly make you think twice to become an entrepreneur, where you may, or may not become a billionaire. So individually, who we are very much depends on the choices we made, or going to make.

But the choice of a government, will affect every citizen of the country. So please, governments of the world, every decision made should take into consideration of the people..of the citizens!
